Summer is here, and we have a lot more guests at the Torres Community Shelter than we are used to at this time of the year! Our supplies are way down and we really need these items, especially items in the first three categories...food, personal hygiene and building hygiene. Please help us out! Personal Hygiene: 

• Sunscreen and Chapstick
• Bug Spray
• Hygiene Items (toothbrushes, small tubes of toothpaste, disposable razors, deoderant, nail clippers)
• Large bottles of shampoo and conditioner
• Large bottles of body wash (like those found at the dollar store)
• Ibuprofen
• Foam ear plugs
• Lotion

Food:

• Large sized canned goods
• Hot dogs
• Hamburger patties

Building Hygiene:

• Bleach
• Laundry detergent (liquid preferred)
• Disinfecting solution (Pine-Sol, Simple Green, any econo-version cleaner)
• Window cleaning products (Windex, econo-windex, etc.)
• Brooms

Miscellaneous small items:

• Garden tools (including a weed eater)
• Locking toolbox
• Flip flops in mostly large sizes (Dollar Store)
• Post it notes
• New or gently used bathmats with no slip bottom
• Disposable CPR facemasks (available at Red Cross)
• Printer paper
• 8 oz. disposable coffee cups
• Plastic ware (forks, knives, spoons)
• Paper plates
• Trash bags --33 gallon and 10 gallon

Miscellaneous large items:

• Heavy duty clothes washers and gas or electric dryers
• Musical instruments especially guitars, tambourines and drums (we want to start offering more actvities at the Shelter, and this would be a great start!)
• Large coat rack
• Outdoor storage shed (12X15 insulated)
• Colorful wall hangings/pictures

Donations are greatly appreciated and they don't always have to be financial donations! We don't charge our guests for anything, and there are lots of items that help us stretch our budget, including those listed below. Thank you for your support!
